Right after adding six players in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams shifted their attention toward signing prospects who weren’t selected. Undrafted free agency is a big part of the draft process and the Rams often have players make the 53-man roster despite not being drafted.
The Rams have already signed a bunch of undrafted rookies, one of them being Louisiana Tech wide receiver Tru Edwards. He’s the son of former first-round pick Troy Edwards, who was also a wide receiver.
Troy Edwards played seven years in the NFL with the Steelers, Rams, Jaguars and Lions, finishing with 203 career catches for 2,404 yards. His son, Tru Edwards, caught 84 passes for 986 yards and six touchdowns last season at Louisiana Tech – the same school Troy attended.
Edwards will battle for a roster spot this summer, competing with players such as Quintez Cephus, Xavier Smith and Drake Stoops. If he can make the team, he'll had a spot on the 53-man roster just like his dad did when he came into the NFL in 1999 – albeit, as an undrafted rookie instead of a first-round pick.
