Vita Vea wearing the Silver and Black?
Yes, please. That’s the sentiment of the Las Vegas Raiders’ fan base. We recently asked our readers would they want the Raiders to pursue Vea, the star defensive tackle of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a recent post. The results were overwhelmingly in favor of the idea. That is not surprising, Vea is a special player who would help the Raiders immensely and he has ties to key members of the organization.
So, while Vea would be a good fit for the Raiders, a lot would have to happen for the Buccaneers to get to the point of dealing him.
Vea wasn’t participating in the offseason sessions for the Buccaneers because he reportedly wants a contract adjustment. He is entering the final season of a four-year, $71 million contract with Tampa Bay. These types of things are normal around the NFL and often get figured out. But, sometimes, things get messy and contract talks cane get ugly. And it could lead to a divorce between a team and a player.
If it does get to that point, the Raiders could pounce. Las Vegas general manager John Spytek was in Tampa Bay with Vea and part owner Tom Brady was teammates with him for three seasons. So, it’s possible and the fan base is all in.

Pass. Stick with the process. It’s working.

Vea would be awesome if we didnt have to give up too much to get him. Id give up a 3rd and some easily. He would make our run defense amazing

With his contract situation and age Tampa bay is only getting, at most, a late 2nd day pick and a 3rd day pick.
And to me, that’ll be worth the price tag. Vea frees up a lot of potential double teams going Maxx way. A true NG puts this defense in the potential to be top 10 pretty easily.

Couldn’t agree more. I think the Raiders should pull the trigger if he becomes available. Obviously Vea has the stamp of approval from Brady, which has to mean something.
Raiders can afford it and by the time Mendoza extension comes around Vea contract and many others will be off the books.
Sounds like a no brainer to me.
