LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns softball used a five-run third inning to pull away for a 6-1 victory over the Texas State Bobcats softball on Sunday at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park, clinching a Sun Belt Conference series win.

The rally started with Mia Liscano reaching base and advancing on a sacrifice bunt by Kennedy Marceaux. Dayzja Williams followed with a bunt single before Brooke Otto tied the game with a squeeze bunt. Lily Knox then delivered the biggest hit of the day, launching a three-run home run to center field to give the Ragin’ Cajuns a 4-1 lead. Haley Hart later scored on an RBI single by Miki Watts as Louisiana plated five runs in the inning.
The Ragin’ Cajuns added another run in the fifth inning when Liscano brought home Hart on a bunt single, extending the lead to 6-1.
