Los Angeles (12-18) defeated Minnesota (25-7), 89-82, on Thursday at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 12,824 were in attendance for the WNBA matchup.
Former Lady Vol Rae Burrell started for Los Angeles and led the Sparks in scoring with 17 points. She converted 5-of-11 field goal attempts, 3-of-6 three-point attempts and 4-of-4 free throw attempts.
Burrell also totaled two rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes.
Dearica Hamby and Nneka Ogwumike scored 16 points each for the Sparks. Olivia Miles led all scorers with 23 points for Minnesota. Napheesa Collier also scored 21 points for the Lynx.
Minnesota had the largest lead of the game (11 points) and were ahead 80% of the contest. Both teams finished with 35 rebounds each. Minnesota committed 14 turnovers, while Los Angeles had 13 turnovers.
The Sparks led the game with 46 points in the paint and 14 fast-break points.
Both teams converted nine three-point attempts.
