I have no issue with hope despite the history this franchise brings. I really struggle with people who try and gaslight others (or talk down to them) on this board that this franchise, it's GM, it's owner, any part of it deserves any sort of benefit of doubt.
Bidwill is awful and has always been awful. He is like the Christmas poo from South Park that leaves residues of poop on everything it touches. This is a fact.
Monti is a loser. He failed to significantly better the roster in the three years he has been here. His coaching staff failed. His plan at QB failed. He has missed more in the draft and free agency than he has hit. His plan was to upgrade the lines and he failed to even do that. He was not fired back because another loser in Bidwill doesn't want to look even more like a doofus but jokes on him, keeping Monti makes him look even worse. This is a fact.
Rallis hasn't been a good DC any year he has been in AZ. People can debate the players he has had to work with but that is crap because it's the same GM. He is still going to have the same guy feeding him players. What's gonna change? Also, Monti had nothing to do with his passive defense scheme. And if the argument is that it was passive because of Gannon, well then, why are we going with a bootlicker of a DC? Ultimately, the biggest issue with Rallis is that he can't really win unless he really shows something more than he has shown. This is a fact.
Now, is there a thin line that can be threaded where Monti gets better, Bidwill keeps his mitts off things, MFL is amazing, and Rallis comes into his own...sure, but let's not pretend like it is a likely scenario. The most likely scenario is that Monti continues to be a loser, the Cardinals have another bad season, and Bidwill gets hammered all year for holding onto him which leads to Bidwill firing him. The defense continues to suck due to lots of reasons, and Rallis gets fired too because nothing changed. This will lead to a new GM with a HC he didn't hire, a new DC whom might be the coaches choice or might be the new GM choice, a still bad roster, and roster turnover as the new GM moves to get rid of the players Monti drafted. Then MLF goes into year 2 with a bad record, a rookie QB, and it is another thin path to being competitive.
We will see tho.
