It seems like there's gonna be no accountability for one of the worst losses in Cards' history: Petzing hasn't been fired as of late Monday night, Demarcado isn't gonna be cut (and probably not benched for any future games either). :bang: :help:

I don't know why we didn't draft a QB or bring in a younger retread than Brissett. Someone with some potential to be a starter in the interim while we move on from Kyler.

2-5, but with some hope seeing how the offense is run with a QB that can stand up, see the field, and deliver some great down the field passes.

Season OVER before the bye…Before even HALF the games have been played. The fans deserve better, especially after waiting patiently for 3 years.

Do something Bidwill.
The only good thing he can do at this point is to sell.

Give me all of 2026 with Monti, Gannon, Brissett, and a rookie QB.

As long as it means that Gannon and Monti get extended or fired together .
And then that next GM/Coach is saddled with a QBOTF drafted by Mensa Drafter Monti? Brilliant plan to not only waste next season, but sabotage whatever regime/QB comes in next before they even get here.

Monti probably chokes and drafts a guy in the second or third round. You probably just move on from the guy after a year or two, or he ends up being Jalen Hurts.

Lots of fantasy point for Hurts yesterday

He isn’t a bad GM (in the bottom third or like historically bad). The problem is he’s risk-averse and unlucky.

Maybe the sample size isn’t there to say he’s bad. The problem is this team needs good people at QB, GM, and HC to actually compete and I don’t think we have that rn.

If you’re conservative in this next draft you probably do like what Parcells did in the 2008 NFL draft and build the lines then draft a QB prospect. Less risk and more excuses not to be fired.

I just think the rookie QB is easier to move off of than the GM/HC.

I dunno about chaining them together- lets say Monti puts pressure on Gannon to revamp the offense and bring some coaches with real experience in, and it works, but Gannon still coaches games so risk adverse that the trend of losing close games continues...

The saddest truth is that I have actually enjoyed watching these past two games. They have come to sad and frustrating conclusions, but I have had hope.
I don’t think the cupboard’s bare as far as talent is concerned here, but there are just too many painfully stupid coaching decisions, at crucial moments, all season, for me to have hope for THIS coaching staff moving forward.

And it’s not like these guys are green, first year coaches anymore. This is their third year. They should be getting better as coaches, not making the same mistakes or even getting worse now that there are actually expectations.

And this is the year they were supposed to make the jump to the playoffs. PLAYOFFS!?!

Yup. The foundation for this team is actually pretty good. The problem remains that we don’t have (m)any elite players and difference makers outside of McBride, and Monti has had three turns of the wheel to unearth a gem.

Great players can make up for middling or scared coaching. Unfortunately we don’t have enough.
