I'm desperate... Ha!

Neither Goff or Wentz were “surefire” QBs, but the Rams and Eagles both sat in similar positions in the draft and did what was needed to get the guys who in just two years, led their teams to the 1 and 3 seed in the NFC.

Still, this year we can't realistically get to that spot. I'd be awfully concerned if the Browns or Giants, who desperately need QBs, were so unimpressed by the top two options that they were willing to move back 14-15 spots.
the Browns have the #1 and the #4... if they really like a guy like, say... Rudolph, or Mayfield, or Allen.... they can trade away the #1 and still get their guy at#4 and in the process add value to their teams future... it would be a smart move...Still, this year we can't realistically get to that spot. You really want to give up next year's first, this year's second, and more picks, for the 3rd QB drafted? We can't just mortgage the future for who is likely to be a bust, statistically.why? there's more than 2 QBs in this draft and there's going to many different ideas on all of them. The Colts and Browns second first rounder are in play. We can't just sit back and continue to hope someone drops in our lap. If there's a guy we want, freaking go get him finally.

I'm more than happy to take a little bit of a risk and trade a 3rd rounder if we're confident in someone (Mayfield/Rudolph/whoever) to jump in front of the Redskins or some other competing teams, but if we're trying to compete to move ahead of the Broncos and Jets, we're going to have to give up a ton. This is a team that actually needs the picks.

Browns could also sign Cousins or Taylor and rack up lots of first round picks trading down. Buffalo has two firsts, they could concievably give up both of them along with next years first to get the 1 or 4 pick if they get rid of Tyrod.
I still think the Browns will sign a FA QB... their new GM wont want to pin his early career on a complete unknown at QB...picking a QB at #1 overall in the draft is a very difficult thing to do,...very high pressure... not to mention they have lots of young players and could use veteran leadership that a good vet QB can provide.
Hell, they could sign a vet, keep their picks...and Grab Barkley and the best OT in the draft.... both of which would help their QB.... Joe Thomas will be retiring soon.
Giving up all of your future picks to take a stab at the 3rd QB isn't the way to become a viable, successful franchise either. Quick, tell me what teams have had proven success moving up this far for a QB without mentioning the names Goff or Wentz.Yeah, they have to give it a shot. Especially with a new regime starting out. Paying high dollars for 2nd tier QB's is not the way to become a viable successful franchise.
Cardinals need to be pro active and not settle for whoever falls to them this time in particular.
At least now the rookies salaries will not hamper you if the guy does not pan out. I get your hesitation, but dude, your solution to the QB situation is one of being scared sh!tless to take the initiative and that is not a solution in the NFL... be it the playing field or the draft
I have 2 solutions.
1. Sign Kirk Cousins, "whatever it takes."
2. Sign Keenum/Bradford/Bridgewater/mid-tier FA, draft a young QB between picks 10-15 to be the future.
I am down with two but with a little more pedal to the metal and move into the top ten... but I think a guy will be there at fifteen but I would not take the chance, you get your guy because all those other picks you talk about losing are a risk too![]()

And a team that drafted a QB in the 2000s that didn't pan out. Not that I'm saying we should be afraid of drafting one because Leinart didn't pan out - I've been passionate about needing to take a flyer on anyone in the past few drafts after Logan Thomas didn't work out. But I want to be realistic about our chances. I'd honestly have a really bad team that gets a chance at the top pick, or mitigate the risk by not trading away our future. This is a team that actually needs a QBOTF and has for 30 years.
