Purdue baseball is battling for an NCAA Tournament berth but faces an uphill climb.

The Boilermakers (32-15, 15-9 Big Ten) are sixth in the conference standings through May 5, with three games each remaining against Indiana (21-27, 7-17) and Iowa (29-18, 12-12) and one against Ball State (21-26).

Most college baseball bracketologists see five Big Ten teams making the 64-team field, with Purdue narrowly missing the event that finishes with the College World Series, which begins June 12 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Here's a look at where things stand:

College baseball bracketology: Will Purdue make the NCAA baseball tournament?

Jacob Rudner, Baseball America: Next four out

"Purdue sits in the next four out and faces a difficult climb with Indiana and Iowa remaining. An RPI of No. 52 and a No. 104 strength of schedule leave little room for upward movement."

Jonathan Wagner, On3: First four out

"The SEC also sits on top with 12 NCAA Tournament bids. Other leagues with multiple bids are the ACC (9), Big 12 (7), Big Ten (5), Conference USA (3), American (2), Big West (2), and Sun Belt (2)."

Erick Smith, USA TODAY: First four out
