It's impossible to say. He simply has not played enough live snaps to judge what he could be.

He could be Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield now level.

He could be Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield with the Panthers level.

No way to tell, which is why it's a huge roll of the dice. But they painted themselves into a corner to the point that they don't have much choice.

The Bucs did not think Baker was the answer when they signed him. The Seahawks didn't think Geno was the answer. The Vikings did not think Sam Darnold was the answer. The Colts didn't think Daniel Jones was the answer. Those guys were signed to prove it deals and in some cases, they had high draft picks they had to compete with to win the job. I even hate putting Willis with those QBs because they were drafted two rounds higher than he was.

Malik Willis should be the same. A QB to compete for the starting job with no expectation for the future except when he earns. Anything more is a poverty mindset.
