MORTON, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Summer practices are winding down as the fall football seaosn approaches.
Morton played host to a joint practice with Peoria High and Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin on Tuesday night. It was the final summer practice of the year for the Potters and Lions.
“Sometimes it gets hard to go best-on-best and eleven-on-eleven with ourselves, so getting another team in here helps a ton,” said Morton head coach Adam O’Neill. “Helps us make sure we can get lined up and make sure we can run our things at the same type of speed. Come out and compete against some other guys and compete with each other, it’s a lot of fun.”
Most teams are wrapping up their summer workout schedule this week. Fall football practice starts Aug. 5.
