A power outage affecting the Ohio Dominican University campus has forced a second postponement of the Division V, Region 18 boys basketball final between Columbus Academy and Castalia Margaretta.

Originally scheduled to be played at 2 p.m. March 14, the game was moved back two hours after high winds led to power outages statewide March 13.

Academy athletic director Jason Singleton told The Dispatch on March 14 that power still has not been restored at ODU, so the game now is scheduled for 1 p.m. March 15.

According to American Electric Power’s outage map, 114,676 customers in 46 counties statewide – including 35,174 in Franklin County – remained without electricity as of 1:45 p.m. March 14.

Academy (22-4) is seeking its second consecutive regional championship. The Vikings were state runners-up a year ago.

Margaretta’s only previous state trips were in 1928 and 1932.

The winner will play Ironton or Zanesville West Muskingum in a state semifinal at 10:45 a.m. March 20 at University of Dayton Arena.

Ohio Dominican is still scheduled to host a Division VII regional final between Leesburg Fairfield and Malvern at 7 p.m., according to the Ohio High School Athletic Association website.
