Post 36 Juniors win two out of three

The Kernersville Post 36 American Legion Junior team rallied in two games and swept a doubleheader with Davidson County 3 at Atkins High School. Post 36 lost to Davidson County Black on Tuesday.

Kernersville came back to win the first game 8-7 in 12 innings. In Game 2, Post 36 trailed by five runs at one points much but rallied for a 14-13 victory.

In Game 1, a single by Ryan Ladick drove in the wining run in the bottom of the 12th inning with a single. Post 36’s Eli Eason was 3-for-6 at the plate with three singles. Ladick and Walter Dillon each had three RBIs in the game and Seth Edison and Cam Ellerbe each had two hits. Kernersville had 14 hits in the game.

In Game 2, Davidson County scored seven runs in the top of the third inning to take a 9-4 lead. Post 36 tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning with a single by Maddux Pennington, a walk to DJ Lowe and a single by Eli Eason. Davidson County took a 12-9 lead in the fifth inning. Post 36 rallied for the win in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Kernersville drew eight walks and battered out 12 hits in the game. Ryan Ladick started on the mound. Seth Edison closed out the game and got the win.

On Tuesday, Davidson County Black claimed a 10-9 victory over Post 36. Charlie Lynch and Eli Eason had two hits and two walks apiece. Lowe had two RBIs, Eason had three RBIS and Lynch scored four runs.

Post 36 played away against Davidson County Black on Wednesday at Holt Moffitt ballpark.

Kernersville’s last home game is on Thursday at Atkins.
