I'm better than Mulli!
this ain't gonna be the typical positive thought for the week. usually i have tried to make the ptftw sumpin' about the cards. this week, it's kinda a roundabout thought. i'm excited. yes, i'm excited for the season. optimistic? maybe not. but excited certainly.
in all seasons past somehow or another the cards have gotten me to be optimistic before the first fireworks are set off during the first national anthem of the first game. somehow, no matter what, the cards have gotten me excited with the hope of playoff possibilities. every single year. amazing really.
this offseason disturbed me greatly. you all can attest to that. so much so that i lost all hope of regaining the customary optimism normally accompanying the season. and what happened? i did not regain that optimism. but, what i did find may be even better. i have gained a realistic excitement. my excitement is based on growth. in the front office and the player personnel.
i think rod has shown growing pains, but i think both he and the ownership have also shown flashes of joining the rest of the nfl in the current century. hurrah!
i also see a team built with a single focus on character and team-concept ethics with a great deal of potential. i am excited to see what happens with the wr situation. i am excited to see if this rookie class outperforms the pundits as they have thus far. i am excited to see what kind of influence dexter jackson has on adrian wilson and the defense as a whole. i am excited to see our linebackers fly around the field and our offensive line hopefully dominate the line of scrimmage.
do i think we'll be good this year? no. do i think we'll get crushed sometimes? yes. but am i excited? you better bet your life!
