Ole Miss baseball's pitching staff is led by coach Joel Mangrum.
Mangrum is in his second season as the Rebels' pitching coach, a hire that's paid off well for coach Mike Bianco.
The Rebels have made two straight NCAA Tournaments since Mangrum was hired with an improved pitching staff.
This time, Ole Miss is in the College World Series, playing its opening game against North Carolina on June 12 at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
Taylor Rabe has pitched five shutout innings against North Carolina and the Rebels lead 1-0.
Here's what to know about Mangrum.
Mangrum was hired before the 2025 season after Ole Miss missed the NCAA Tournament in two straight seasons following the 2022 national championship.
Mangrum was previously the minor league pitching coordinator for the Cleveland Guardians for four seasons and a minor league pitching coach from 2018-19. He has also been an assistant at Louisiana-Monroe, New Mexico State, Austin Peay, Milligan College and Hinds Community College.
Mangrum is from Brandon and played at Mississippi College and Hinds Community College.

Bianco never had a pitching coach on his Ole Miss staff since being hired as the coach in 2000. He handled those duties.
"I thought it was time to hand over the reins to somebody else," Bianco said in September 2024. "But with that, going further, I thought I wasn't as good."
Before Mangrum was hired, Ole Miss had the third-worst ERA in the SEC in two straight seasons. In 2023, Ole Miss had a 6.40 ERA. In 2024, Ole Miss' ERA was 5.88.
Last season, Ole Miss' ERA improved to 4.65 and ranked 10th. The pitching has been even better this season at 4.37, fourth in the SEC.
Reliever Walker Hooks made the 2026 All-SEC first team, while starter Cade Townsend made the All-SEC second team. Hunter Elliott was also selected to the SEC All-Defensive team.
Mangrum is 43 years old.
