Taylor Rabe is Ole Miss baseball's starting pitcher to begin the College World Series.
The Rebels (41-21) are facing No. 5 seed North Carolina (50-12-1) at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, on June 12 (6 p.m., ESPN).
Rabe, a right-hander, began the season as a reliever before entering the starting rotation. He's been one of Ole Miss' best pitchers in the last month.
Rabe was picked to start the opener over Hunter Elliott, who has been Ole Miss' Friday night starter all season. The Rebels are 7-0 in NCAA Tournament games started by Elliott in his career, including the clinching game in the 2022 national championship season.
Here's what to know about Rabe.
Rabe has a 5-3 record and 3.71 ERA in 16 appearances and 10 starts. He's struck out 98 batters and walked 11 in 70⅓ innings.
Rabe has only allowed three combined runs in his last three starts against Alabama, Nebraska and Auburn. He has a 2.08 ERA in the two NCAA Tournament starts against Nebraska and Auburn.
Rabe is ranked as the No. 90 draft prospect by MLB.com. Although he is a sophomore, it is his third year of college baseball. He redshirted in 2024 so he is eligible for the 2026 draft, which is July 11-12 in Philadelphia.
