How they got here: District 2 champion Valley View defeated Northern Lebanon in the first round, 5-0, Archbishop Carroll in the quarterfinals, 2-0, and Pope John Paul II in the semifinals, 8-0. District 7 runner-up Blackhawk beat Punxsutawney in the first round, 12-7, Bonner-Prendie in the quarterfinals, 2-0, and Harbor Creek in the semifinals, 7-5.
Breakdown: Valley View rides an 11-game winning streak into the final and has nine consecutive shutouts. It has not allowed a run since the bottom of the fifth inning May 5 against Scranton Prep — a span of 59 innings. … Abbi Call is a big reason why. The Clemson University-bound senior took a perfect game into the seventh inning in the quarterfinals and settled for a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts. Call is 16-2 with a 2.02 ERA and 160 strikeouts.
