Good to see Owings hitting the ball hard. Peralta is 8 for 10 the past two games. Beef has been nothing short of amazing. Tomas had a bunch of nice swings tonight. Goldy appears to be getting his groove back and Ruby collects his 10th win! Dodgers getting spanked by the Nats to boot! Great nite!!

To answer my earlier question...

The Reno Aces and the Arizona Diamondbacks announced Saturday that the contract of Aces infielder Jamie Romak had been purchased by the D’backs.

The 29-year-old Romak has posted the best numbers of his 13-year professional career. In 107 games with the Aces, Romak hit .289, with 22 homers, three triples, 33 doubles, 87 RBI, and 71 runs scored.

Romak was named to the PCL All-Star team after he hit .300 with 18 homers and 69 RBI in 86 first-half games.

He made his major-league debut last season with the Los Angeles Dodgers and played in 15 games, primarily as a pinch-hitter.

Also Saturday, Arizona announced it was purchasing the contract of left-handed reliever Keith Hessler.

So he got a double in his first major league at bat for the dbacks? Awesome.

It sounds like tonight's game will be a high scoring one.
Now it figures to be difficult to even the series behind Buchanan (2-6, 7.23 ERA), who is 0-5 with a 4.62 ERA in his last nine on the road, including 0-3 with a 7.20 ERA in four this year.

The right-hander's last outing also won't inspire much confidence as he matched a career high by getting tagged for seven runs in four innings, escaping without a decision in Thursday's 10-8 defeat to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
