The New England Patriots might be adding another big-time wide receiver to their roster in the coming weeks. Many fans are hoping it will be Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, but there’s still a chance New England could add a receiver in the first round of this year’s draft.

With the Patriots holding the No. 31 pick, they could be in position to draft a falling wide receiver, and NFL Network's Gennaro Filice has a player in mind.

Filice released a mock draft on Monday, projecting that the Patriots will select Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. with the 31st pick.

"The Romeo Doubs pickup was solid, but Drake Maye’s receiving corps still isn’t up to snuff following the release of Stefon Diggs," Filice wrote. "Cooper’s a well-rounded player with a mature game that could immediately fill the slot role in New England."

Cooper played four seasons with Indiana, participating in 42 games and recording 115 receptions for 1,798 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns.

The 22-year-old was one of the reasons the Hoosiers won the national championship last season, and he could bring his experience over to the Patriots, who are looking to win the Super Bowl.
