The New England Patriots released Stefon Diggs this offseason and he remains unsigned. However, former Patriots defensive back and Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty thinks he will end up with the Washington Commanders.

"You look at him going home, potentially to the Commanders, being opposite Terry McLaurin with what they have in their wide receiver room," McCourty said on "Up & Adams" on Tuesday.

Deebo Samuel is a free agent, and his return to the Commanders seems unlikely. The team drafted University of Clemson wide receiver Antonio Williams in the third round, and he could end up playing a big role. However, outside of McLaurin, the wide receiver corps is unproven.

Diggs was born in Maryland. He played high school and college football in Maryland, so a return to his home state would not be surprising. He was a 1,000-yard receiver last season and could be a great addition to the offense.

After a trip to the NFC Championship Game two seasons ago, the Commanders were disappointing last season. Jayden Daniels looked like a star as a rookie, but injuries derailed his season last year. A healthy Daniels throwing to McLaurin and Diggs could make the Commanders' offense one of the best in football.
