Patriots or Raiders could pull off blockbuster trade with Bears based on latest rumor originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

Wide receiver DJ Moore has long been considered a trade candidate for the Chicago Bears this offseason, and for good reason.

Moore hasn't been able to recreate the elite production he posted in 2023 while catching passing from Caleb Williams the past two seasons, which points to a chemistry issue for the wideout and his quarterback.

Adding to that, the Bears have a promising young trio of pass-catchers in Luther Burden, Colston Loveland and Rome Odunze, which could further make Moore expendable.

As a result of all that, CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones reports that many around the league have their eyes on Moore as a possible trade candidate.

Jones goes on to add that it's possible we could see the New England Patriots make a play for Moore, and he could even see Moore being included in a trade package for Las Vegas Raiders star edge rusher Maxx Crosby if he's dealt.

"One Bears player plenty around the league are keeping an eye on is wide receiver D.J. Moore. The former first-round pick is coming off his least productive year of his career. The Patriots could be a landing spot for Moore if the Bears do a deal involving the receiver, or he could be part of a hypothetical package that goes to a needy Las Vegas team in a deal for Crosby," Jones reported.

Moore would make sense for both teams.

The Raiders have a terrible wide receiver situation currently, with their top three wide receivers being unproven 2025 draft picks Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton, and veteran Tre Tucker, who is best suited as a No. 3 target.

With the Raiders slated to add a new franchise quarterback in Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 pick, Las Vegas must be aggressive in adding more weapons. An established wide receiver like Moore would be a perfect addition.

Even if the Raiders don't trade Crosby to the Bears, we could still see Las Vegas try to acquire Moore given their desperate need.

As for the Patriots, they could very well cut ties with Stefon Diggs, who is viewed as a cut candidate if the two sides can't agree on a reworked contract.

But even if Diggs returns, the Patriots still need more help for quarterback Drake Maye, with the rest of the room consisting of Mack Hollins and unproven wide receivers.
