Bears predicted to get a discount on trade for Raiders $106.5 million edge originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

The Chicago Bears made a few nice moves over the NFL offseason, with the additions of safeties Dillon Thieneman and Coby Bryant being very exciting moves for the defense.

But they failed to address the edge rusher position at all. With the NFL Draft in the rear-view mirror, the Bears don't have many options to add to their edge rusher room.

Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport is predicting the Bears will swing a trade to resolve this need, and this prediction, with the Las Vegas Raiders for $106.5 million edge rusher Maxx Crosby, would come at a nice discount for Ryan Poles and Ben Johnson.

Bears predicted to trade for Maxx Crosby at a discounted price

"Chicago Bears receive: Edge Maxx Crosby. Las Vegas Raiders receive: 2027 Round 1 pick, 2028 Round 2 pick," Davenport predicts.

This trade prediction would have the Bears landing Crosby from the Raiders at a discounted price compared to what he initially was set to go for.

The Baltimore Ravens and the Raiders initially agreed to a trade that would send Crosby to the Ravens in exchange for two first-round picks. It was a huge deal, but the Ravens backed out after looking at Crosby's medicals.

Crosby returned to the Raiders, and the aftermath likely has his value a bit lower than it was when trade talks were initially occurring.

This prediction follows such logic, and has the Bears trading for Crosby with a first-rounder in 2027, but a second-rounder in 2028 as opposed to another first-rounder.

Adding Crosby, the 28-year-old edge rusher who is a five-time Pro Bowler with 69.5 career sacks, would be exactly what the Bears need this offseason. If it came at this price tag, it would be a lot more palatable than two first-rounders.

Crosby would be an incredibly fun pickup for the Bears, and while this prediction might be a bit optimistic for the Bears, it's not actually that unrealistic considering his price likely dropped following the Ravens trade fiasco.
