New England Patriots Pro Bowl cornerback Christian Gonzalez has cleared concussion protocol and no longer has an injury designation.

That means the star defensive back will be available to play in Sunday's divisional playoff game against the Houston Texans. Gonzalez dominated in last week's wild-card game against the Los Angeles Chargers by pitching a defensive shutout on five attempted passing targets in his direction.

He was forced to leave the game early after landing on his head on a coverage play against Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston. There was at least a sliver of hope that he would come back sooner rather than later considering that he told reporters he was "fine" after the game.

However, that same hope didn't exist for Texans wide receiver Nico Collins, who was officially ruled out for the game with a concussion on Friday. It was Collins' second concussion since last October, and his injury looked significantly scarier than Gonzalez's. The visual of him being carted off the field with a towel over his head wasn't a good sign of his chances of returning quickly.

Patriots defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga had no injury designation as well. If Harold Landry III plays in Sunday's game, the Patriots will have their entire defense available to them against the Texans.

Here are the players with injury designations for both teams:
