Patriots fans react strongly to hypothetical three-team trade

Just because we're nearing the end of the NFL offseason doesn't mean teams are done wheeling and dealing.

Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox recently suggested a three-team trade involving the New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns. In the deal, the Patriots would get Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson. Meanwhile, the Cardinals would receive Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Patriots wideout Kayshon Boutte and the Browns' 2027 fourth-round draft pick.

The Browns would get Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett and New England's 2027 third-round draft pick.

Patriots fans weren't happy with the trade considering the team would be forking over a third-round draft pick in 2027 at a position that isn't a major need. The team signed veteran wide receiver Romeo Doubs in free agency, along with trading for three-time All-Pro wideout A.J. Brown.

Even without Boutte, they would still have DeMario Douglas, Mack Hollins, Kyle Williams, and Efton Chism III. That is already serious firepower for Patriots quarterback Drake Maye headed into his third NFL season.

The only reason this makes no sense is there is already a logjam at WR. It's not a need. Boutte, if traded, needs to bring back an edge or TE.
