The New England Patriots approach next season with multiple players in line to make a statement in 2026.

Dre’Mont Jones and Romeo Doubs are coming off career years in 2025 with much more to look forward to in their futures, beginning in 2026, while Craig Woodson, Will Campbell and TreVeyon Henderson all appear primed to improve from their rookie showings from last season.

According to ESPN’s Ben Solak,Patriots center Jared Wilson is, in fact, the player for New England that is due to have a breakout season in 2026.

Solak wrote:

”Wilson has the nice combination of quickness, balance and play speed that modern centers need to become featured parts of the running game. Facing fewer one-on-one situations against power rushers than last season will benefit him greatly. So long as he can handle the pre-snap side of the job, he should be an above-average starting center by this time next year.”

Wilson ended his season poorly with a down showing in the Super Bowl and was given a player grade of 49.9 from Pro Football Focus for his work on the year.

Nevertheless, switching positions from left guard to center, the latter being the position that he played at Georgia before entering the NFL, figures to put him in a position to play much better in 2026, in a role that comes naturally to him.
