The Carolina Panthers are continuing to solidify their depth.

As announced on Friday afternoon, the team has re-signed inside linebacker Claudin Cherelus. According to Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer, Cherelus is set to return on a one-year deal.

After splitting his collegiate career between the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Alcorn State University, Cherelus broke into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets in 2023. He'd later be claimed off waivers by the Panthers following initial roster cuts that summer.

Cherelus has gone on to appear in 33 outings for Carolina since. This past season saw the 27-year-old defender notch career-highs in games played (14), starts (four), combined tackles (32) and passes defensed (one).

In addition to Cherelus, the Panthers have also re-signed wide receiver David Moore, tight end James Mitchell, defensive lineman LaBryan Ray, outside linebacker Thomas Incoom, cornerbacks Akayleb Evans and Robert Rochell, safety Isaiah Simmons and long snapper JJ Jansen.
