It s time too See what riddick can give
If he was ready, or good enough, he'd be out there. Just because he has the measurables doesn't mean he's a good player. Blown assignments killed the Cards on run defense last game. I'm sure he doesn't have the mental part of the game down yet.

I think we dodged a bullet with Shazier that guy has spent his whole career hurt.

I thought he may trouble in the NFL if they played him inside. He bulked up to, I think, low 230's for the combine but he played around 210-215 at OSU. He's a very good player when on the field though.

It seems the last 2 years they stole the guy I wanted most. LAst year Shazier and this year Dupree.

At this rate, they won't have any more rookie LB picks to snatch from us, right? :D

Very interesting position we'll be in next year... do we go with a stud QB like Cook or Goff in Rd 1 or settle for a position of need in OLB. This is why I brought up that whole UFA list to see if there's any players worth taking a flyer on and mortgaging the (short term) future for a later run this year...

Is there some type of midseason trade we can make for an OLB that is set to become an UFA next year? Perhaps their current team does not want to pony up the $ next year and/or the player doesn't fit in the system anymore? Off the top of my head, Tamba Hali may be a good target since Houston just got paid... Here is the full list according to SportTrac

Von Miller would be the guy I would pay. Wanted us to draft him. Agree with Harry it's time to bite the bullet and get a top pass rusher.

There's a very Explosive pass rusher in New York that could be available. I just can't put my Finger on his name

Would ARZ be able to come up with that kind of cash? DEN will franchise him but he's worth 2 first round picks but ARZ would have to do some cap work to make him a strong offer.

Let's pry Cam Wake away from the Dolphins. They're going through a transition and he should've been a Cardinal anyway. We were also looking at Orakpo from what I recall in FA.

Eh, idk.

Wake has been looking washed up so far this season, & that's with Suh forcing double teams.

That entire team is a debacle. They are all pointing fingers at each other and its starting to effect their play. Should be interesting to see how many games they end up winning and if they will have a fire sale like the Bears did earlier this year

He's a real firecracker

And a very damaged one at that. It's highly likely he's never the same player. We still need OLBs regardless & IMO Shaq has more upside than Golden because he has the one thing you can't teach, speed

NY - Jason Pierre-Paul

Can anyone explain his contract status? I understand the Giants withdrew their long-term offer, but also that Paul never signed his franchise tender. (Or did he eventually sign it after his incident?) I believe that if he signed it, he's Giants property and will get the pro-rated value of the franchise tender for however many games he plays.

But if he didn't sign it, isn't he a free agent? I haven't found anything on the web that says he signed, yet most articles seem to imply that he's Giants property. If he's a free agent, and he heals well enough to be 80% as effective as he has been, he'd be a heck of a pickup for a playoff run!

Bump. Pierre-Paul just signed an "incentive-laden" deal with the Giants. But can anyone explain why he wasn't an UFA, and if he was, why there were no reports of other teams (including the Cardinals!) having interest?
