The 2027 class of Oklahoma high school football recruits is loaded.
Rivals lists two five-star prospects from the state: Fort Gibson offensive lineman Cooper Hackett and Mustang cornerback Gabriel Osborne Jr., who was elevated from four stars on Monday.
247Sports also lists two Oklahoma five-stars: Osborne and Bixby offensive lineman Kaeden Penny.
All three are OU commits, parts of a Sooner class that ranks sixth according to both recruiting sites.
Just how rare is it for Oklahoma to produce two five-star recruits in the same class?

One is rare enough.
Booker T. Washington’s Dax Hill, who went to Michigan, was the last five-star from Oklahoma, according to Rivals’ industry rankings. Hill was in the 2019 high school class.
Westmoore’s Brey Walker was a Rivals five-star in 2018. The last five-star before Walker was the late Austin Box, from Enid, in 2007. Southeast’s Gerald McCoy was a five-star in 2006.
That’s as far back as the Rivals rankings go. So having two Oklahoma five-stars in the same class? That’d be a first.
Not according to 247Sports, though. They ranked both Walker and Midwest City’s Jalen Redmond as five-stars in 2018. That’s the only other year in the 247 database with two five-stars from Oklahoma.
