NORMAN — Oklahoma football landed a coveted two-way target Tuesday when three-star Jaiden Fields, a top 20 athlete per Rivals, gave his pledge to the Sooners.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound receiver/safety, is Rivals' No. 652 overall recruit in the 2027 cycle. He narrowed his finalists to OU, Stanford, SMU, TCU and Texas A&M, making official visits to all five schools before he announced the commitment Tuesday afternoon.
The Hutto, Texas, native registered 79 receptions for 1,262 yards with 19 touchdowns as a junior last season. He also notched 44 tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions and a pick six.
Fields is the Sooners' 27th commitment as part of their 2027 recruiting class, which ranks sixth nationally by Rivals.
Despite its number of commitments, OU has stayed hot on the recruiting trail. The Sooners landed four-star two-way player Bode Sparrow on June 26.
