He’s using the only leverage he has. The OTAs are voluntary. It's 100% on MO
But, JB should be participating in the OTAs pending the results
He's not helping his cause and not showing he's putting the team first and foremost

Kick the tires on a trade, if there isn't one out there, cut him now. Quit wasting time on a career backup QB who went 1-11 at the helm (and, I know, it wasn't ALL his fault but he was a PART of the problem).
Bad look on both sides IMOHe’s using the only leverage he has. The OTAs are voluntary.
It’s a business. Monti is the bigger failure here.Bad look on both sides IMO
Then cut him. Sitting and doing nothing is what makes the Cardinals look like clowns. If you promote a guy into a higher role and he doesn't produce, fire him. If you don't think you can afford to lose him, pay him. Either way, action resolves the situation more than doing nothing and looking like your franchise and new HC are being held hostage by a journeyman QB.Why? Should he just give JB what he wants to get him on the field?
We have no idea what is being asked for. It's just as possible that the Cards have offered a fair raise and JB's camp have either refused it, or are dragging their heels hoping the Cards buckle and offer more.
I'm really not concerned with him not being at OTAs (yet) throwing floaters to uncovered receivers.
Or if you don't like the production, fire him. It's not a tough situation.Imo Brissett is justified asking for a raise. This is the FB equivalent of your boss leaving and you are asked to assume their role. Yearly reviews come around and you are asked to continue those responsibilities without being compensated. Pay the man!
Why would he put the team first when they aren't putting him first? It's 100% on MO

we can also trade brissettOr if you don't like the production, fire him. It's not a tough situation.
didn't they literally "declare" brissett to be the first qbWhy would he put the team first when they aren't putting him first?
Beforedid brissett demand more money before or after we drafted beck?
thx been wondering that for a minuteBefore
But they don't want to pay him like it.didn't they literally "declare" brissett to be the first qb
Words are wind.didn't they literally "declare" brissett to be the first qb
we don't know man - im guessing monti is down with a raise this year - brissett has earned that but would you extend brissett this year when you don't have to? especially if you don't believe he's the future? But they don't want to pay him like it.
And just to be clear, I think you can argue either side of paying him or just letting him go. I think the incompetence is in doing nothing.
Is Brissett worth keeping and dealing with this discourse if you aren't willing to pay him? That's the question.
Fixed it for youYou guys are killing my OCD. It's OTAs, not OTA's.

Monti has 26.75 mil on the books for this year in dead money excluding Kyler Murray. What sort of dead money could Brissett want that would be more significant than what Monti already generates?we don't know man - im guessing monti is down with a raise this year - brissett has earned that but would you extend brissett this year when you don't have to? especially if you don't believe he's the future?
extending brissett now would be so steve keim - brissett needs to show he can win games this year - because he hasn't shown that thru his entire career
pay him but don't extend him - definitely don't cut him - teade that ass - we can always use another 5th round pick
i don't know how much brissett is asking for but monti should pay him if it's within reason - just no extensionMonti has 26.75 mil on the books for this year in dead money excluding Kyler Murray. If he guaranteed 15 mil this season and then 7 next season, it would be the same as signing Dalvin Tomlinson and then cutting him the year after in terms of dead money. Has that been detrimental in any way to this season's operations?i don't know how much brissett is asking for but monti should pay him if it's within reason - just no extension
He's really not skimping out paying a true starting QB though is he? I think the main issue, as has been stated, is that the Cardinals need to defecate or get off of the pot on this one.I wish Monti had worked as hard on improving the roster as he has in trying to skimp out paying a starting QB. Just focused on the wrong things IMO.
