Yeah, my reaction to all of this is wake me up when they start arresting referees... and not just in the NBA. Those are the guys I have no doubt are really getting away with this kind of stuff.

Shams Charania with an even deeper dive into the gambling investigation. It appears the situation will only get bigger.

Bball players are wannabe gangsters, and gangsters are wannabe ball players

The NFL aren't saints here either. Both leagues make instant millionaires / stars out of very young men.

Hockey and MLB might make you wealthy right off but you still have to grind through the minors.

This gambling thing is going to get bigger and bigger... my guess, for all sports betting.

By David Purdum and Shwetha Surendran Oct 24, 2025, 02:41 PM ET, ESPN.

Members of Congress sent a letter Friday to NBA commissioner Adam Silver requesting a briefing and expressing concern over "allegations of illegal gambling and sports rigging" after Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and former NBA player and coach Damon Jones were indicted in a pair of sweeping federal investigations this week.

The bipartisan letter, signed by six members of Congress on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, requested a briefing with Silver by Oct. 31.

Player prop bets need to be illegal in the United States
It doesn't make any sense logically. Online poker is illegal but sports betting is not. Does anybody think there's any chance all this gambling advertising is going to go away in American sports? Money talks.
