OT: Ryan Mallett traded to the Texans

Only a 7th rounder too.. I know many on here over the last couple of years have said they wished we would trade for him.

Was worth a shot. The price was good and they need help. Fitzpatrick isn't the answer. Is he better then Schaub? Oh yeah. But that doesn't mean it's good to call him your starting QB.

Mallet might start pretty soon. He knows Bill O'Brien's system, or should anyways.

Unfortunately for the Texans there was no quarterback in the draft with number one overall bonafides.

Ryan Mallet has the physical tools. IIRC, he dropped to the third round over concussion concerns and his name being just about the only thing he got right on the Wonderlic.

He was a known coke head. The Pats are usually pretty shrewd about the draft, but that was a misfire. Mostly because Brady is a freak though, and Mallett never saw the field.

This is my thought too. They took him in the 3rd a couple years ago hoping he'd pan out and have trade value worth a higher pick in a later draft. To part with him for a 7th the year before Brady retires tells me he's probably not very good at all and they cut bait.

No rumors about it. It was known. I think if the Aaron Hernandez fiasco happened prior to drafting Mallett, they never would have drafted him.
