I was reading where Rosen's 5th year option, if it comes to that, will be $22M. That will be a deal, because all the top QB will be getting $35.

I think you read wrong
Rosen's 4 year deal is for a total of 18M, or 4.5 per season.
There is no way that jumps to 22M in the final year.
That would mean that (#2 pick) Barkley's 5th year would be more than 35M, if the ratio is the same, based on his first four years rookie contract of 31M (7.75M per season). Think about that for a second.

Statistics are for debating. How does a guy who is not even top 10 deserve to be this week's highest paid NFL player?

Funny thing is, if Eli Manning were paid that kind of money, pretty much everyone here would throw a fit complaining how much he sucks even though he has 2 Super Bowl rings. Incidentally, in their lone playoff matchup, Manning outplayed Ryan and the Giants basically shut Atlanta out.

That makes sense regarding the positional average, I still find it hard to believe Rosen will jump from an average of 4.5 to 22M in the final year.
Can that really be correct?

Nope, that's just the new reality. It doesn't mean anyone considers him the best QB in the league, it's just a snapshot in time. Plenty of the QBs you have ranked above him will get more when their contracts are renewed. And 95-63 is pretty darned good.
Ryan has more passing yards through 10 seasons than any QB in history. Of course, this is also a reflection of the times, with passing games becoming ever more prolific. But, it's hardly the case that he had only one good year in his career. He's been pretty steadily one of the better QBs in the league, and he proved he's capable of taking his team to the Super Bowl and performing well enough to win it. So, his contract seems about right to me.
It would be interesting to see average QB salaries as a percentage of the salary cap, rather than in absolute numbers, to put things into perspective. I'm sure Ryan is FAR from highest paid in history by that measure.
