JB exposed a lot of the flaws in Kyler.

He showed that a QB could stay in the pocket, understand a defense, and make quality reads, and even make some down-the-field passes (like BEYOND the line of scrimmage even).

No one hailed JB as our next great QB. He just showed that we should want for more than what we have had for the past several years.

Kyler is not OUR QBOTF. He will be somewhere else soon.
He showed a QB can put up meaningless stats averaging 43 pass attempts a game and being down multiple scores in nearly every game.

Wouldn't the K1 v JB discussion go away if everyone would accept the fact that once we lost Conner, then Benson and finally Murray, our run first offense had to change to pass first and hope? Of course JB had to pass so often...there was no one to run the ball.
Imagine JB standing tall in pocket hitting receivers in stride AND having Conner available to run the ball. I think the offense would have looked pretty good.
The defense is a whole different discussion.

Kyler was our leading rusher when he went to IR, it's not like he had the benefit of leaning on a strong Conner and Benson run game. HE was the run game. And we were in every single game. As matter of fact, the last time Kyler left the field in each game, we were either tied or had the lead.

Sorry but are you seriously comparing Kyler to Burrow? The Bengals might be one of the few franchises that are run even worse than the Cardinals (or comparably as bad). When you take a look at the roster that Burrow went to the SB with, do you honestly think Kyler would have been able to go on a similar run?
Again the Bengals are a better team than the Cardinals.

Yeah but the team with the most regular season passing yards automatically wins the superbowl! Duh!

That's why I said when we lost the run game, which includes all three I mentioned regardless of who was the leading rusher, we went pass heavy

I would guess KC with Mahomes done for the year on a one year deal because I don't believe anyone will trade for him and that contract.

I said that too but then I read KC thinks Mahomes might start Game 1 next year. I have no idea how that works timeline wise but that's what the article said they think he can start game 1

I'd be surprised considering Kyler was injured 3 weeks earlier in the season than Mahomes when he blew his ACL. He didn't come back till week 8 the following season. But then again it is Kyler. lol

wouldn't surprise me. Palmer got injured in Week 10 of the 2014 season and was ready to go for training camp Day 1 the next season. Figure Mahommes injury was a month later, but considering Palmer was ready to go six weeks before the regular season with no restrictions in camp, so that gives him time to be ready by Game 1.

see my post right below this one.

Kyler's always taken longer than anyone expects to come back from any injury.

I don't recall on Carson but Mahomes tore his LCL too.

I think the reason Kyler took longer is that running is such a big part of his game they wanted to make sure he could run before he came back. Mahomes is mobile but seems like way more important to Kyler than to Mahomes.

So funny story, last night I went to dinner with three guys from KC and we were talking football and I did two layup questions.

#1. Do you consider Kyler Murray good or bad? 2 bads one okay

#2. Would you want Kyler Murray to fill in for Mahomes while he rehabs. All 3 immediate yes.

In my head I was like "welcome to your 400 page thread about he stinks but better than the other options"

It’s not like Mahomes isn’t known for his scrambling and his Escapability… sure not to the extent of Kyler, but he’s still pretty mobile and elusive in the pocket and tore an extra ligament.

Sure but Kyler has 500 more yards rushing in 40 less games. It's a much bigger part of Kylers game than Mahomes. THat's my guess why Kyler rehabbed longer they wanted him to be able to run
