Also, Baker is a much better QB than Kyler.
C Is
This is a cogent summation of the two players. I'm guessing Baker's dad hasn't been his lifetime QB coach. I know I harp on that a lot, but it smacks so much of complacency and, frankly, arrogance. Both have been humbled in their careers, sharply. Unfortunately for Kyler, he was rewarded for it and has shown no impetus to change. Baker had to rebuild from nothing and resurrect his career, and has transformed because of it.

I laughed at the idea of us going after Baker to replace Kyler previously. Just shows I don't always know best.
That "100" is just for the final sentence

Yeah they said Kyler did a better job in quick game and getting passes out early last year, which I maybe didn’t clock.

Also said Kyler had just 27 designed runs last year. The Cards want to get that back into the offense. Justin Fields had more in six starts!
From what I recall kyler did okay in timing routes inside ten yards... but he still doesn't often come back to a guy once he makes his read...that hurts him on deeper timing routes because he either stares them down or just moves off...he needs to go through his progression then snap back to his timing route.
Just seems his internal clock runs about .5 seconds faster than everyone else

People riding Baker Mayfield like he wasn't bouncing around the league till he teamed up with a HOF WR and Godwin.

Still just gonna totally ignore the fact that Baker only played 7 total games with Evans and Goodwin, huh? And that even when both Goodwin AND Evans were out for 3 games, he still put points on the board and kept them competitive.

Kyler has had plenty of time and plenty of excuses considering where he is at in his career. They simply don't fly any longer. This year or bust. It should have happened sooner but you really have to pull a rabbit out of a hat if he falls flat this season to make any more.

If not this year, next year will be the deciding season

That actually probably true. Let's say we finish 10-7, limp into the the playoffs and get blown out because of a bad Kyler. We're picking in the 20s, who's Kylers replacement? Do we package Kyler and our pick to move up? Do we cut him and go Jacoby, tank and talk a Garrett Nussmeier? Sign someone like Justin Fields or Jamis Winston?

Moving on sounds easy until we realize we'll have to get lucky to move on and improve.

we didn't see the soc today but we saw the sok brain farting his way to another despicable display - wth man - it wasn't fear - it wasn't footing - it was fart - identifying the one thing you're trying to avoid and then hitting it dead on - choke is also an acceptable description and don't hit me with that 1 pass nonsense this was the first drive and his early picks have screwed us in the past- same ol' kyler

Preseason is for working on things. Kyler threw that pick to give the offense practice in his to defend the pick. Mission accomplished

I ain't sweating the pick.
It was an obvious oh crap moment...both teams in red and white...pass was a dime. Kyler just brain parted.
crap happens.
The timing crosser to Marv was much more important in regards to our offense in 2025.

Kyler was over 10 yards per attempt against a decent defense.
That's a good sign.

The last time Murray played in the pre season was also the last time we made the playoffs.
.....let's see if we start a trend

KM threw some good passes, some average throws

Then the pick which was to a Chiefs defender with no Cardinals anywhere in the area and he stared right at him

So again we got to see hot and cold KM

Are we going to talk about Kyler preseason picks or we just letting that one slide?

Honestly I’ve waited so long for football I’m hoping Kyler was just working some stuff out- can’t handle Mr Hyde Kyler already
Terrible pick for sure.

Just watched the replay.

Was putting together a good drive as well.

The season will tell us what we need to know. Hoping K1 can have an MVP type season.

I would give Kyler a pass if it was a pick on a long, contested throw or if the DB had made a great play on the ball. But, Kyler had a defender right in front of him and made a soft throw that had no chance of getting to Marv, and Trey was open on the play.

It’s those low intelligence plays that we have seen for 7 seasons now that make it hard for me to support him.

Other than the pick he actually looked pretty good with a couple of REAL nice completions.
We can hash over this forever but he’s a 9-15 rated qb. I feel the roster is now deep enough to hope Kyler can just manage the game, minimize the dumb mistakes and pray the front 7 can live up to their billing.
