Here's what the DVOA Annual said about Kyler Murray:

We talked about Murray's inconsistency in the Cardinals chapter, and that's a lot of what's driving skepticism towards Murray's future as a franchise-level passer. The other problem, however, is a lack of explosiveness. Murray has now had three straight years with a touchdown rate under 4%. His 3.8% touchdown rate since 2022 ranks 24th out of 32 qualified passers, and most of the players below him are in the Sam Howell/Mac Jones/Zach Wilson tier, where teams have already given up on them. Murray also ranked just 26th in explosive pass rate at 7.9%, essentially tied with Mason Rudolph. Murray is a better player than those guys, but the lack of the big splash play is another reason he can be so frustrating to watch at times. The big-play potential is there, and we have seen him execute before. It just too often fails to fire. Rumors emerged during the draft that Michael Bidwill isn't Murray's biggest fan, and his contract is very reasonable to trade after this season. Stay tuned.

Don't recall the rumor that Mike had cooled on Murray.

this is exactly why I like seeing dallas losing guys and struggling.

How can jerry resist a QB who never loses in dallas stadium?? Thats a guaranteed 8 or 9 wins a season.......and the dude is a bona fide Texas Legend...think of the jersey sales!

we get a single playoff win this year...trade Murray to dallas for their top three pick and Micah Parsons whom they dont want to pay...then go get that kid Mendoza from Cal while everyone else slobbers over the latest Manning.
Hell, if we get the top pick from dallas...trade it to whoever has 3..get Mendoza and an extra second..
use our own first to get an over the top WR or an ORT

we now have the roster that can support a rookie QB for a year or two while he takes his lumps.

Kyler is in a “do or die” scenario.

I wasn’t a fan of drafting him, I may have become Luke warm at times, but loosing him won’t break my heart.

I have zero hard feelings for the dude. I’ve wanted him to succeed.

He just isn’t (and never will be) a top 5-10 talent.

I sure would like him to prove me an idiot and dead wrong.

he needs to hate mistakes like the top tier qbs do - he needs to hate seeing the punting team come on the field - absolutely detest them - feel like they're a waste of roster space and we should go all 4 downs 24/7 because he gives us the best chance to win - kyler murray needs to become a narcissist and evil fearless mastermind - he needs to invite the pressure like he did in college - abuse it and make it futile - break his own rushing record because that's what it's going to take - we didn't draft 5'10" we drafted 4.34

if he takes everything he's learned and puts it all into one season he's in the playoffs - if not we already know

This will be Murray’s 7th year.
Has there been another #1 overall QB picked that has gone 7 years, got an extension, and never won a playoff game with his original team?

The Bidwill souring on Murray seems odd seeing that Gannon and Monti had to be Murray fans to get their jobs.

Tell him I said hi.
Just did.. he didn’t win his first playoff game until 33. Organizations matter.

Another good example is Drew Bree’s didn’t win a playoff game until year 6 when he signed with New Orleans.

Kyler is not even close to the same levels as these guys, but it shows when stuck w a crap organization with crap rosters even the best can’t win. If Stafford was in the right organization he would have multiple super bowls at this point imo.

Carson Palmer??
Peyton Manning is pretty close to that too.

Kyler is a “ decent” qb that can make spectacular plays. However his inconsistency puts him in the middle of the pack.
His biggest problem IMHO is timing. He sees things half second to late. Sometime it doesn’t matter but many crucial times it does.
The Cardinals went all in on the defense this year…ALL IN and the biggest reason was because of Kyler.

That and you hired a defensive minded head coach. Don’t know when that’s ever happened and the emphasis hasn’t been primarily focused on the defense in the end.

My question wasn’t a rip on Murray. Even though the Murray lovers probably took it that way.

I was just wondering if it had happened previously. Stafford might be the only one. But he did have a pro bowl year and 11-5 record in his 5th or 6th year which gave him some rope.

Murray needs to produce a playoff year for sure or he’ll most likely have a very precarious offseason.

Alex Smith is probably another.

K1 on 98.7 today.. never heard him on the radio before today, which is kind of wild considering this is his 7th season.

he said "my accuracy has never been a problem. i've never not been accurate, that's egregious." crazy take.

Its kind of hard to use that when Baker is flourishing under Todd Bowles of all people. Although to Bowles credit he gets/got guys that worked directly with McVay.
