Other than the jokes, is this really such a bad thing for the Jets? Prolonging the Geno experiment isn't what that team needs in the long run and in the short term, Fitz was already better than Geno.

Now, they get to move on. They'll play Fitz this year, have a mediocre record and then go out and get their next QB in 2016.

Eisen and Co. were speculating about that but IMO, even though he's played for the Jets and it seems there's a connection, that's a totally different regime. They need to sign a vet but I wouldn't go after Vick.

Yep, as is Barkley. Who's looked really bad as a pro but some team is out there sitting on a vet that's gotta be worth more than a gimpy Grossman or over the hill Vick.

Jets need to trade for someone with some upside. All in all, they're not so deep into the preseason that a guy can't be brought in.

Of the FA guys I know about, I'd go after Jason Campbell as a backup for the Jets before Grossman or Vick.
