In other countries, sure, but most Americans don't give a $hit about soccer. They see it as a boring game for other countries.
Soccer is now the third most popular sport in the US behind football and basketball. It has moved ahead of baseball.

Except for the over 200 here in AZ with boys programs

Pretty much everywhere I lived it was much more likely to have soccer than not

It's one of the most participated in youth activities in the country
There are 722 public high schools in AZ.

Any other stats to prove my point?

Does that include charters and online schools. Gemini summarizes AIA and says there are ~180 2A high schools are larger. Seems like most of the schools that could field 15+ players for a soccer team have one?

world cup would by far be the bigger deal - celebrated by hundreds of millions - not tens of thousands - love me some cards but khaman

Okay okay, the U.S. can win it THIS year, then we got dibs after that.

Although, how funny if this current team won the Lombardi. #worstSBteamever

Definitely agree on the world perception as to what the bigger deal is but I don't think that was the intent of the question.

On a personal level, well, let's see it's June 22 and even though there's really nothing going on in Cardinal land, here I am for the second time today checking in to see if there is something going on. And even though I think this is now only my 418th post, it is still 418 more posts than I have made on a soccer board of any kind and I certainly don't check in with those on a daily basis, or at all. Based on that personal investment, it's gotta be Super Bowl.

Exactly

The little charters and other schools that simply don't offer athletics don't have a team - any school of note that offers athletics will typically offer soccer

The amount of boys football teams in AZ are estimated between 180-200.

So either AZ really doesn't care about football as most schools didn't even have a team, there are fewer football teams than soccer teams or maybe you are typing out stuff that is false

It blows my mind people are answering World Cup.

I can barely muster the energy to watch our games, and I enjoy soccer enough. I'd shrug and be happy about us winning, but it would barely register on my excitement meter.

The Cardinals are my #1 team in all of sports though... and not to get too P&R here, I'm not exactly in love with the current state of our country, so I don't feel a ton of pride or camaraderie there.

Winning a World Cup would be tremendous for US soccer and sports in general. The Cards winning a ring would make maybe 200k happy for an offseason. Bidwill would definitely bring the superbowl ratings way down.
You obviously are not as invested as some of us. So, I don't expect you to understand what we have been through. To each his own.

38 years in. The Cards will never win a SB with any Bidwill being part of the team. I’m not sure who this we is but to each his own.
