"There’s no nice way to put this, so I’m just going to come right out and say it: 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree(notes) stinks. The second-year showboat caught just three passes for 37 yards on eight targets in Sunday’s loss, giving him a weak-ass stat line of 6-81-0 on the season.

Somebody forgot to tell Crabtree that in order to be a diva receiver, you first have to be a receiver."

:lmao:

I believe the majority of Alice Smith's interceptions have come from throwing to Crabtree who seems to have trouble running the right routes and catching balls.

I guess the Radiers selection of DHB is looking better now? Bay area teams really know how to pick those WRs...

They should hire a new OC. It's not the players, it's the coaches :doi:.

As someone who has him on their fantasy team yes he does.

He'll get better, he missed the preseason and he's clearly not been sharp, and it sounds like the new OC will open up the offense.

But he's been a disaster so far, as others have said many of the INT's have been throws to Crabtree.

I still think he could be a very good NFL WR if he had a QB and a good OC but after a very impressive rookie year he's been a huge disappointment in the first 3 games.

I believe the term is "sucks", not "stinks"

If SF ever gets a real QB and HC, Crabtree will be formidable. He's never going to be atop 5 WR though.

Agreed he lacks top end speed and doesn't seem to relish going over the middle.

But he's better than he's looked so far, missing all that camp and preseason really set him back. It sounds weird but last year even during his holdout, he was able to workout and get in shape. This year with the neck issue he was limited in what he could do, so he was actually probably in worse shape when he started playing this year than last.

I am trying to think of the linebacker I saw run down Crab from behind. May have been the guy from UT on the Chefs or someone on the Saints. But Crab does have some pretty good shiftiness.

Hmm...I seem to remember Vernon Davis calling Crabtree out for faking his neck injury. Crabtree is starting to remind me a lot of Michael Clayton with the hype after his rookie season and coming back down to earth with poor work ethic.

VD did question Crabtree's work ethic.
