Oregon Women’s Basketball: Incoming Transfer Stats 2025-2026

An interesting anomaly happened after the end of the 2023-24 women’s basketball season: no players entered the transfer portal. (I say “anomaly” because that’s not likely to be the case ever again – for Oregon or any other P4 team). The biggest need in the offseason, therefore, was to replace the veteran leadership of departing upperclasssmen Peyton Scott and Deja Kelly. That leadership was to be vital in supplementing what was a young 2025-26 team.

The Ducks brought in several transfers, but the veteran leadership transfers came in the form of Astera Tuhina from Washington State and Mia Jacobs from Fresno State. We will take a look at how these two players fared as Oregon Ducks as compared to their previous season at their former university.

Astera Tuhina

Tuhina was a starter at WSU, and while her numbers at a passing glance might not be noteworthy, her performance did not drop. She was not going to be a starter at Oregon, but instead was used as one of the primary bench options and help impart some of her experience.

Tuhina only started one game, but played in all but two games last season. Her minutes per game was cut in half, so if you double the steals, total points, and points per game then she was right on track with very modest improvement. Her overall shooting percentage was better, and shooting at the line showed a dramatic improvement.

Mia Jacobs

Jacobs started in all the games she appeared in last season. She filled her starter role well, as she was essentially slotted to fill the role of Deja Kelly the previous season. There is stark difference in her numbers because she was the player doing in all at a smaller school like FSU, and was never going to be relied upon to do everything, all the time, at Oregon.

Her numbers suffer somewhat from being in a different role at a P4 school, and she pushed through a nagging late-season injury.
