Oregon softball team to host Eugene Regional in NCAA tournament

The No. 11 Oregon Ducks will host the Eugene Regional in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship tournament.


The 64-team field, announced Sunday, begins play Friday with the start of 16 double-elimination regionals, each featuring four teams.


The Eugene regional includes 14th-seeded Oregon (40-12), Mississippi State (38-18), Saint Mary’s (40-14) and Idaho State (37-18).


The Ducks play their first game at 7 p.m. Friday against Idaho State at Jane Sanders Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPNU.


The winner will move on to the Super Regional round the following weekend.


The Women’s College World Series starts on May 28 at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.


This is the 26th NCAA appearance for the Ducks program, sixth straight under coach Melyssa Lombardi.


Last year, Oregon reached the Women’s College World Series for the first time since 2018.

Game 1: Mississippi State vs. Saint Mary’s, 4:30 p.m. (ESPN+)


Game 2: Oregon vs. Idaho State, 7 p.m. (ESPNU)


Saturday


Game 3: Game 1 Winner vs. Game 2 Winner, 2 p.m.


Game 4: Game 1 Loser vs. Game 2 Loser, 4:30 p.m.


Game 5: Game 4 Winner vs. Game 3 Loser, 7 p.m.


May 17


Game 6: Game 3 Winner vs. Game 5 Winner, 4:30 p.m.


Game 7: Game 6 Winner vs. Game 6 Loser (if necessary), 7 p.m.
