Last season, the OregonDucks' offense had many players who gave opposing defenses fits. Kenyon Sadiq was a force at tight end, due to his freakish size and athleticism. This season, it won't get any easier for defenses because the Ducks will only be better at tight end.
In a recent article, Dalton Wasserman and Max Chadwick name Ducks tight end Jamari Johnson the 50th-best player in the country and project him to be better than Kenyon Sadiq this season:
"Oregon lost a first-round tight end in Kenyon Sadiq, but there’s a legitimate chance that his replacement could be even better. Johnson finished the 2025 season ranked seventh among qualified tight ends in receiving grade (85.2), while his 510 receiving yards were the 16th-most in the nation at the position. He’ll be a major factor in what should once again be an elite offense in Eugene."
Keyon Sadiq was a match-up nightmare last season as he posted 560 yards receiving and 8 touchdowns. Johnson was right behind him with 510 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns. Johnson will have another year of continuity and more targets, which should help him outproduce the first-round draft pick, Sadiq. After last season's dominance from the Ducks at the tight end position, the Big Ten should be worried, as they will be even better in this position this upcoming season.
