The 2026 Boston Red Sox won their 13th consecutive game by defeating the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday.
That now measures as the second-longest winning streak in franchise history.
The only edition of the Red Sox with a longer one? The 1946 ballclub.
Yeah, 80 years ago, the Red Sox couldn't stop winning, either.
That year's bunch pulled off 15 consecutive victories before being stopped.

Those 1946 Red Sox started it with a sweep on the road in Philadelphia against the Athletics.
They then swept the defending champion Detroit Tigers at Fenway Park, including a 10th-inning walk-off home run from Ted Williams.
They took two from the Cleveland Indians, then a doubleheader from the St. Louis Browns, including a Dom DiMaggio walk-off single.
One more win over the Browns saw a comeback from down 6-2 to win in the bottom of the 14th inning on a Leon Culberson grand slam.
They beat the Chicago White Sox two games in a row after that.
Their 15th game of the streak was over the New York Yankees in Yankee Stadium.
That Red Sox team went to the World Series but lost in seven games to the St. Louis Cardinals.
They were led by the aforementioned Williams, who hit .342 that season with a 1.164 OPS (37 doubles, 8 triples, 38 homers, 123 RBI, 156 walks).
Johnny Pesky and Bobby Doerr formed the double play combination.
On the mound, Tex Hughson had a 2.75 ERA in 278.0 innings, Dave Ferriss had a 3.25 ERA in 274. innings and Mickey Harris had a 3.64 ERA in 222.2 innings.

They were managed by Joe Cronin, a Hall of Fame player who was in his penultimate season in charge of the Red Sox.
Their win streak came early, from late April through early May. They weren't behind the 8-ball like this Red Sox team.
This year's Boston club has rebounded in a major way from 11 games below .500 to be two games above after the 13th consecutive win.
They'd certainly love to break the old mark, and maybe follow in those footsteps and reach the World Series, too.
It sure wouldn't hurt to have Ted Williams.
