For any player who puts on pads and a helmet, the idea of being a pro football player. From there, if that dream is achieved, the idea could then lead to talk of a second contract and more to lead a complete football life. For a very few, special players, there is the rainbow at the end that leads to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
This weekend, the latest class will be heading to Canton to be enshrined, led by two NFC South legends, Luke Kuechly and Drew Brees. But with all the celebrations centered around that, some folks have started to wonder who else could become a Hall of Famer.
CBS Sports' Bryan DeArdo went through every NFL team and made some decisions on players who could be enshrined eventually. For the Vikings, he mentioned Justin Jefferson isn't a Hall of Famer but "is on his way."
He writes, "Jefferson is off to a torrid start. Despite missing time with an injury in 2023, Jefferson still went over 1,000 yards while recording the most yards in NFL history for a player's first five seasons after amassing 1,533 yards in 2024. It'll be interesting to see how he gels with Kyler Murray if Murray wins the starting job over J.J. McCarthy. Jefferson will go over 9,000 receiving yards and 50 touchdowns by the end of this season, most likely."
Jefferson has a chance to really be remembered as one of this generation's best wide receivers. He has overcome poor quarterback play, thrives with good play, and has the attitude and physical traits to be enshrined in Canton eventually.
