Putting pen to paper, the Oklahoma City Thunder made five roster moves official on Friday. Some much-needed paperwork was finally filed as they're prepared to play at least seven 2026 Summer League games at both Utah and Las Vegas from July 4-19.
The Thunder have officially signed Aday Mara and Bennett Stirtz to your standard four-year rookie-scale contracts. They added Mara with the No. 12 pick of the 2026 NBA draft and Stirtz with the No. 16 pick in a trade-up move.
About 15 minutes later, the Thunder also officially filled their three two-way spots. Brooks Barnhizer, Otega Oweh and Josh Dix were added to them. Think most kinda figured that would be the trio. Barnhizer is the sole guy returning from last season. Oweh was taken with the No. 41 pick of the 2026 NBA draft. Dix went undrafted.
As a reminder, two-way players can only be active for 50 NBA games in the regular season. They're ineligible for the NBA playoffs. Expect them to spend most of the upcoming year in the G League. Of course, the Thunder can always convert them to a standard roster spot at any point.
Now that the Thunder have made those five signings official, they're ready to headline this year's Summer League squad. Mara and Stirtz are the main attractions. The three two-way players are next in line in terms of intrigue. It should be a fun couple of weeks of low-stress hoops.
