New York City streets turned into pure mayhem again Wednesday night after the Knicks secured a 3-1 series lead in the NBA Finals.
The chaos after the Game 4 win followed a chaotic night Monday after the Knicks dropped Game 3 to the Spurs. Following that loss police took over 20 people into custody after large brawls broke out amongst fans.
Here's what happened after the Knicks won last night.
Thousands of New Yorkers took to the streets last night after the historic win, celebrating the Knicks comeback. Some, however, became extremely rowdy, video clips show.
Large crowds, people on top of cars and fireworks going off in the streets were all caught on tape after the win.
The NYPD did not immediately respond to a request for comment by USA TODAY Network
NBC News reporter Tom Winter posted last night that police kept extra officers on duty to assist with the crowds.
Video footage also shows fans throwing items at Spurs players as they returned to their hotel.
Videos posted across social media showed chaos taking place in Manhattan after the game ended on Monday, too.
According to the NYPD, around 7,000 people showed up to the watch party in the vicinity of Bryant Park — the location added just hours before by Zohran Mamdani's office after MSG's watch party was cancelled for security concerns.
Large brawls broke out in the area. Alongside the fights, fans climbed on top of police cars, scaffolding, light poles and trucks, causing "significant damage."
Individuals pulled trees and bus signs out of the ground, and went on to throw them. The rowdy crowd also threw glass objects "at each other and police officers," according to police.
