The Boston Celtics are reportedly entertaining the idea of trading Jaylen Brown, and the Denver Nuggets are suddenly being seen as a suitor.

According to NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer, Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokić could bypass signing an extension this summer, slightly opening the door for a trade this offseason or the next. However, the Nuggets could convince Jokić to sign an extension by adding a superstar next to him.

Brown's name is being tossed around in plenty of trade rumors and reports, and ESPN's Chris Canty reports that the Nuggets have internally discussed putting together a package to acquire Brown to pair with Jokić.

"I would just say Denver has discussed this internally," Canty said on "Unsportsmanlike" on Monday morning. "Keep an eye on what the Denver Nuggets could potentially try to do in terms of cobbling together picks and players to build the package for Jaylen Brown to pair with Nikola Jokić."

Brown has only ever reportedly been made available in trade talks for Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Both are future Hall of Famers, so it's clear that the Celtics are not going to dump him if the return isn't massive. The Nuggets don't have many picks and may be reluctant to trade Jokić.

However, they may be able to throw in some star players like Jamal Murray. They could also try to get multiple other teams involved and ensure enough assets go to Boston to make them comfortable enough to move the 2024 Finals MVP.
