Seriously? Giving up already? Im not giving up on the Suns until the last whistle is blown buddy.

Neither am I and I've said repeatedly that we cannot beat this Lakers team if they are really in sync. So far, the gorram Lakers look to be in sync.

Suns fans, relax. We (the Lakers) simply did what was expected...held home court and used our length.

You now have home court for two games and I expect two TOUGH games. I hope to split them and take your heart, but I could easily see going back for a game 5 tied 2-2.

But unless you were amongst those thinking a Suns sweep or a 4-1 Suns win (delusional) you probably aren't suprised at the series score right now...perhaps you are surprised at the score of the games, but that doesn't mean squat with a team like the Suns, IMO.

I have the luxury/hell of seeing the Suns more often than I wish to, and the Lakers less often than I'd like since I decided to pocket cash and not get the NBA League Pass. So I know this Suns team doesn't give a crap about the score in a game...and can come back from anything. I don't know if that extends to series score, and it does seem that amare is fragile right now, but if your bench heats up...this could get hot soon.

Until LA beats you on your home court, nothing is worth fretting yet. Dudley the doof got off tonight (Kobe decided too late to give him respect...fatal flaw Kobe has) and I'm sure Frye will be hot at home. I can easily see this go 2-2 after four. I am less heart-attack mode now, and hoping for a split, but to see the despair in some of you fans is disheartening.

Here's hoping we sweep you...I can't lie...but if you tie it up I won't be surprised in the least. I wouldn't even be shocked if you win it. Your team is scary and if they get hot, then move outta the way.

The Lakers D hasn't been good so far, however...and I hope they can turn it up because this offensive outpour can't continue. We HAVE been successful in running you off the shots you want, which is 80% of defense anyway, so it explains a bit, but you've still been able to score.

Regardless, the winner of this series MUST beat the Boston Celtics, or I will throw up in my spleen.

Peace, Phoenix Suns friends/fans

Man. Shut your ass up.

I dont know what the word for it is (arrogant? pompus? belittling?), but we both know you dont believe any of the crap you just said.. Your already looking foward to the 567th Finals rematch against the Celtics..

Have you changed? I remember past posts that weren't like this..... Are you a changed man, or do you just feel sorry for us seeing what we have to go through each and every year?

:)

I appreciate the words, but I'm sure you'll understand that none of us can really find a ton of comfort in them, considering most of us can't stand the Lakers and are frustrated with the suns lack of the ability to get over the hump.

That cuts me to the core, man. Really? You want those uberduouchbags to win another title? Damn.

For someone that is moving to LA in 3 months, I want no part in the Lakers winning another championship. It is bad enough I am going to be ridiculed the minute I bring my couch into the door of my new house, it would just suck having to stare at another championship t-shirt/banner again.

Absolutely looking forward to it. But that doesn't mean it is set in stone. The Suns are a dangerous team, and I don't like "outscoring" as a strategy.

I believe every word I said. The funny thing is you don't - you better hope your team does. If they don't think they are dangerous and can get right back in this series, then get out a broom. OKC won their home games; why in the f would the Suns be any different?

I've only talked smack when the Suns were better than the Lakers (06-07). I tend to avoid smack talk when holding advantages, unless in jest. But when we roll out guys like Smush and Kwame, I go into full smack mode...bizarre I know. :)

So the smack was more for defending those scrubs the lakers used to roll out with? It must have been Gasol, who was handed to the Lakers on a silver platter that changed you into a more civil poster then? :)

I guess there was some good things that came out of the Gasol trade!

The Lakers held home court I pretty much expected that as they play well there and usually get all the favorable calls / noncalls. I expect the mood of this board will change if we come home and the Suns hold their home court as well. I can't imagine that Nash, Amare will not come to life soon and Frye always plays well at home. The Lakers have shot very well in the first 2 games we need to get on the boards and the Lakers shooting % should come back to earth. Its not over yet!

uh, sorry. as much as I think KG is the king of the douchebags, he can't hold a candle to the entirety of your team, starting with Colonel Sanders' smug ass up top, Kobe's ridiculous "predator I'm so tough and focussed" jaw, Artests' lunacy, Farmar's huge head and tiny ears and worst of all LA FAN.

One thing has happened - the Lakers saw to it that the Suns have to win 4 of 5 games to advance into the NBA Finals. Therefore something big has in fact happened, the Lakers essentially clinched the Western Conference last night.

I don't know if I have hated a collection of dudes as much as I hate this Lakers team... seriously. Just the mere sight of them gets muy blood boiling. I respect the hell outta Kobe, Gasol and Odom... even Fisher. Even Shannon Brown for gods sake... They are so damn good. But there is something about ALL of them. Each one of them has something about who they are or how they conduct themselves on the court... that air of entitlement... of arrogance. I just can't stand it. I hope the Celtics kick the livin crap out of the Lakers!!!!:mad:

Exactly, the sentiments are nice, but reality is that we're not coming back.

They have to go into Philly Flyer mode, starting Sunday.

Or to a lesser extent, go 1994 Houston Rockets on the Phoenix Suns
Actually that was a larger uphill climb for the Rockets. They lost to us twice at home to start the series and still came back to win. Of course we're not as good as that Rocket team and the Lakers are superior to those Suns squads. We also lost two close out games to them on our home court the following year.

This franchise is cursed, eternally cursed with one-dimensional players and mediocre coaching.

in thinking back on that series, that Rockets team probably should have wiped the floor with us in like 5 games. Barkley was hobbled and the only reason we were up 2-0 was because Houston choked away 2 20 point leads in back to back games... one of them in the 4th quarter. They knew they could play with/beat us. This Suns team doesn't have that knowledge... nor talent.

Thanks, Donald. Nice post and un-Laker-fan-like. ;)

It's easy to be magnanimous when you have the better team. :)

No, seriously, I appreciate the sentiment. And of course, we'd feel like we're right back in it if we were able to hold home court.

What pisses me most off about the Lakers it that to a man, every one complains like they've never fouled in their life every time they are called for a foul. Makes me hate them.

Sure, it pisses me off also but it's pretty much par for the course for good defensive teams. I don't know if it originated with the Chuck Daly Detroit teams but it's the first time I ever paid close attention to it. Bill and the boys never committed a foul despite the fact they were the most physical group ever (at that time).

Since then, every team that focuses on defense uses the same technique up to and including educating their fans to whine, hiss and boo at every call/decision that doesn't go their way. It clearly works, just look at how much better the Jazz have been at home vs on the road the past 20 plus years.

You do realize that Chucks team led the league in fouls and technical fouls on several occasions don't you? They had Bill Laimbeer on those teams. He was considered the hard foul king. Maybe the complaining did start with those teams but it clearly didn't work in Detroit's case.
