There are few things I enjoy more than talking high school football.

Not just breaking down scores or predicting winners, but debating storylines, questioning assumptions and diving into the games that will define a season before they're ever played.

That is why I'm excited to bring the Rogers County Football Forecast back.

This fall, the podcast returns with a new look and a new co-host. I'll once again be behind the microphone, this time joined by Christian Potts, as we discuss another season of high school football across Rogers County.

When we launched the Rogers County Football Forecast during the 2024 season, it quickly became one of my favorite parts of the job.

Each week, Josh Jennings and I looked ahead to the biggest matchups, discussed the teams and players making headlines, shared our predictions and occasionally disagreed along the way.

It wasn't just about football; it was about having the kind of conversation fans have all week leading up to Friday night.

Then life happened.

After graduating from Rogers State University, Jennings accepted a position with the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. It was a tremendous opportunity for him, but it also meant the podcast quietly fell by the wayside.

The reason is simple: I never envisioned the Rogers County Football Forecast as a one-man show.

I wanted it to feel like two people sitting around talking football, challenging each other's opinions, laughing at bad predictions and giving listeners a reason to feel like they were part of the conversation.

That is difficult to accomplish when it is just one person talking into a microphone. To fulfill that vision, I needed a co-host.

Enter Christian Potts.

Potts shares the same passion for high school football and brings a fresh perspective that I think listeners will enjoy.

Together, we'll cover all nine Rogers County football teams while taking a deeper look at the biggest games, the players to watch and the storylines that could shape district races and playoff runs.

Listeners can expect honest analysis, not just scores and statistics. We'll make weekly picks, offer bold predictions, discuss rankings and playoff implications, welcome coaches and special guests and spotlight the athletes and moments that make Rogers County football special.

Whether you're a die-hard fan, a parent, a player, a coach or someone who simply loves Friday night football, our goal is to make the Rogers County Football Forecast your weekly stop before kickoff.

After a year away, I'm excited to get back behind the microphone. More importantly, I'm excited to have someone sitting across from me because that is how I always believed this podcast was meant to be.

I can't wait to talk football with Christian and with all of you.
