The week began with talk of the career grand slam and LPGA Hall of Fame and ended with a cut watch.
World No. 1 Nelly Korda never looked comfortable in France, certainly not down the stretch as she bogeyed the 17th and parred the easiest hole on the course, the par-5 18th, to miss the cut by one. It's her first missed weekend dating back to the 2024 KPMG Women's PGA.
It was hot in France, but Korda, for the first time all year, was not.
Coming into this event, Korda hadn't finished outside the top 8 all season in stroke-play events, winning four times, including the first two majors.
Korda shot 74-69 and took 64 putts over the course of two days.
Though the cut line did shift to 1 over not long after Korda finished. A birdie from amateur Yunseo Yang on the 17th, along with Ryann O'Toole's birdie on the 18th, however, brought the cut line back to even par. A total of 66 players made the cut.
After battling back from a horrid start on Thursday, Hannah Green couldn't muster enough momentum to play the weekend. Rounds of 70-73 had the Aussie miss her second straight cut in a major after a disappointing showing at Hazeltine.
Gaby Lopez was firing on all cylinders in the majors in 2026, finishing T-12, T-2 and T-12 in the first three. But the streak ended in France, though she did birdie three of her last six holes on Friday to shoot 70.
The only Frenchwoman to win the Evian, Boutier got off to a nightmare start on Thursday with a triple on the first hole. After an opening 76, she battled back nicely with a 2-under 69, but it wasn't enough to give the home crowd something to cheer over the weekend.
While four amateurs made the cut, No. 1 Kiara Romero was not among them. Romero needed to play the weekend to earn her LPGA card this week. Though she closed with an eagle on the 18th, it was a nightmare finish with a triple and a double on Nos. 16 and 17. She shot 74-73 in her Evian debut.
Two rounds of 74 sent the newlywed packing. It marks the first time the 2019 Evian champion has missed the cut in this event. The former No. 1 has three missed cuts in four major starts this season.
Past champ Minjee Lee beat exactly one player in the field this week after twin rounds of 77. She had three doubles and a triple over the course of 36 holes and hit a total of 12 fairways.
