The 2026 World Cup across North America is slowly coming to an end, with the final game set for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

One of the final Florida games is scheduled for Saturday, featuring fan favorites Norway and England. However, one of the teams has seen some hiccups ahead of the big match.

According to reports, the Norwegian team has moved from their Miami hotel following a "series of disruptions" ahead of the upcoming World Cup game.

The global soccer tournament, which began on June 11, is the largest in history, with 104 matches played across 16 cities in three countries: Mexico, Canada and the United States. In the U.S., Miami is hosting several games alongside Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Kansas City, Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia and East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Why did Norway leave their Miami hotel?

According to the Miami Herald and The Independent, the Norwegian soccer team reportedly complained to the team’s management about noise and disruption from construction outside the Dalmar Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. They brought their concerns to FIFA, and FIFA approved the team's switch of hotels.

Norway’s World Cup logistics manager Truls Dæhli confirmed the hotel switch to Norwegian network TV2, saying it was "brutal having to move but we are satisfied with the new place and everyone is happy now." He did not confirm the exact reasons for the move.

“Good well-being, good mood and good atmosphere are the most important things for us, and we have been met with good understanding from FIFA, who have moved us to the new hotel, Dæhli said. “We had to make a small adjustment, because this hotel costs more. But we are incredibly satisfied with the way things have been responded to here. There are only happy faces here now.”

The USA TODAY Network Florida reached out to the Dalmar and had not heard back by publishing time. The team was moved to an undisclosed accommodation closer to the beach, according to the Herald.
